Meeting The Iceman

Wim Hof the Iceman

Let me tell you this – I hate cold water! And here I am plunging into the ice tab with 500 people during the workshop in London with the famous Iceman.

If you have not heard of the Iceman, Wim Hof, check him out. This man is worth everyone’s attention. He has set 21 Guinness World Records enduring the most exceptional and unique performances, including:

  • running a marathon on sandals above the Arctic circle wearing only shorts
  • running 1/2 a marathon barefoot above the Arctic circle wearing only shorts
  • officially swam under ice for 66 meters, unofficially swam under ice for 120 meters with one breath
  • hanging on one finger at an altitude of 2000 meters
  • climbing the highest mountains on earth in only shorts (including Everest)
  • full marathon in the Namib desert without water consumption

All this may seem “superhuman”, but Wim is a simple man on a mission to inspire others: “What I am capable of, everybody can learn".

What I loved about Wim is his simplicity, humanity and genuine friendliness that you cannot fake. He is beaming with health and vitality, so total and passionate.

There are thousands of gurus around this planet but the Iceman stands out for me – he is free from the spiritual garbage and bondage – he is simply “nature”. His message is to eradicate illnesses from this world, and help everyone learn how to be healthy, happy and strong.

It was so beautiful to stand next to the “superhuman”, considering his insane achievements: but for me he is the most human out of all the people I have met to date. Meeting the Iceman helped me to understand what Osho means when he says that to be human is more than enough.

To be human is also much more fun with a strong and healthy body. It was interesting to hear that Wim Hof eats only once a day but he is visibly full of health. I already started eating only twice a day with no snacks in between and feel tremendous energy available to me. Wim explained that practising his breathing technique and taking ice cold baths or showers every day will boost the energy level, improve the cardiovascular system and re-set the endocrine system. These methods will reduce the need of food as energy supply for the body. As meditators, we have known this for a long time: meditation nourishes better than food. And it was great to find out from Wim that there are other natural ways to access our prana energy.

I feel incredibly positive and happy that the Iceman is out there inspiring people and working with scientists to change this unhealthy world we live in. Go Wim Hof!

No EGO, we GO!
